Viking History channel is coming to the United States with new seasons and a new brand.
The news comes from the Viking History Club, which said Tuesday that Viking History was the best channel for people who want to understand Viking history, as well as those who want more Viking-themed entertainment.
The new season of Viking History, available now, will air on the Vikings History channel, as the network is transitioning to a new content-and-content-management system that will include video-on-demand and streaming options.
Viking History is also bringing back the Viking Society, which the channel says is a “family of channels” with “a deep history of Viking culture and world.”
“The Viking Society has been around for a long time, but it was always on the rise,” said David Hochstein, vice president of programming at Viking History.
“It was a little bit of a fluke that we found ourselves in a very competitive marketplace, and we were able to do it.
It was a very exciting time to be in.”
Viking history channel is owned by CBS Corp., the same company that owns HBO and AMC Networks.
Viking History is one of two channels owned by the Walt Disney Co. The other is ESPN.
