Posted September 24, 2018 06:16:52 The first installment of Israel’s history vault is now open, according to the Israel Antiquities Authority.
The Jerusalem Post, a pro-Israel publication, reported Wednesday that Israel’s state museum, known as the Israel National Museum, has launched a new website dedicated to Israel’s national heritage, which includes the country’s Jewish people.
According to the Jerusalem Post report, the new site, titled Israel’s Jewish Heritage Vault, will house the National Museum’s collections on the Holocaust, the Holocaust’s legacy, and the Zionist state.
The new site will include the Israeli National Museum in Jerusalem, the museum’s collection of documents, books, artifacts, and other materials related to Israel, the agency said in a statement to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
The National Museum is currently housed at the World Heritage Centre in Istanbul.
The museum’s history includes artifacts dating back to the days of biblical Israel, as well as a large collection of biblical texts.
The site is expected to open to the public in 2020.
